Content : Every year, a 9 year-old little girl called Juma goes on holidays in her mother’s family. But the place is clearly not usual! Juma is going on holidays in a small village lost in the Amazonian forest. Her mother was born in the Huni Kuin Indian tribe.
In this book, Juma tells her holidays, her friendship with her cousin Joao, the great traditional festival happening every July, etc.
She brings the reader with her to discover the forest (and the danger of deforestation), fruits, trees, animals, but also old traditions in her family: the work with feathers and body painting.
This book is a playful documentary with an ecological eye, questioning protection of the trees and the future of the tribes.
