Not Quite Me

Content : A fantasy tale about family secrets.

An only child, Nelly is a teenage girl with a photojournalist father in Ukraine and a mother… who is pregnant. Their relationship is strained. Her mother sends her to spend the holidays in Normandy, at her maternal grandmother’s house, because she needs to be alone. Is she really expecting a happy event? Nelly wonders anxiously. Her mother and her grandmother have been at odds for years for some obscure reason.

So Nelly settles in at her grandmother’s place in the countryside. She begins to find her bearings in the breathtaking manor house, surrounded by a garden where one feels utterly alone in the world. The scents of the garden bring back memories of her childhood.

But at night, in the bedroom papered with forget-me-nots, she sleeps badly. She is awakened by a ghost who looks strangely like her. It is her double—or something very close to it. Nelly grows more and more afraid of the night. Who is appearing to her? And why?
