About the author/illustrator: Christine Flament was born near Paris in 1957. After studying literature, she turned to art, taking drawing classes with the City of Paris and frequenting the Louvre and art books. An illustrator since 1987, and also an author, she works for various publishers. “Initially, I illustrated novels for Castor Poche, or documentaries for Epigones, and I gradually specialized in this genre. What I like about illustration is creating a whole world. I'm inspired by everything: nature walks, music, reading and all forms of art. Documentary is a special genre. How do you build a story that will interest the reader? That's what I try to do when I write and illustrate my stories.”
