Content : What if the cards revealed what the heart has yet to know?
Gaïa hates two things above all else: Christmas and fortune-telling. And yet…As the Advent season approaches, Gaïa, a university student, is forced to take a temporary job at the Oracle Café — an esoteric little place serving as many tarot readings as it does hot drinks. To make matters worse, there’s Sacha, the infuriatingly smug waiter who seems determined to get on her nerves. To Gaïa, he’s clearly part of the “hopelessly gullible idiots” club. Gaïa doesn’t need to read the cards to know that this Christmas won’t be restful. But when a misunderstanding leads her to perform a reading for a hugely popular influencer, her life suddenly takes an unexpected turn…
A Christmas romance set in a delightfully cosy universe — this time, in a charming café where fortune-telling sessions are part of the menu.
A contemporary story sprinkled with just a touch of magic and mystery.
Written in a fresh, witty tone by Aurélie Gerlach, an established author of children’s fiction (Aux Douceurs Enchantées, Gallimard) and adult romance (under a pseudonym).
About the author:
Born in Paris in 1984, Aurélie Gerlach is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris. Passionate about Japan since her teenage years, she spent a year studying at Waseda University in Tokyo and has returned regularly to the Land of the Rising Sun ever since — mostly because she’s hopelessly addicted to their canned iced coffee. A slightly embarrassing detail: despite all those trips, her Japanese skills still leave much to be desired…Based near Paris, Aurélie works as a journalist and writes a recurring column for Japan Lifestyle magazine, where she shares the misadventures of “a blonde in Japan. ”The rest of her time, she devotes to her rock band, Babooszchka, and to painting fluorescent abstract canvases.
