To her parents’ great surprise, Hazel is delighted to spend her winter holidays with Granny Boom-Boom. Little do they know that she will be reunited with her best friend, Chewie, a dinosaur who has become her pet.

Their games of hide-and-seek and competitions to create dinosaur sculptures out of ice are interrupted by the surprise arrival of three very unusual guests: a thirteen-year-old Marie Curie, Hatshepsut, the first female pharaoh, and the French pirate “La Buse”.

Sent back to the present by Hazel’s brother Lazar to save them from a terrible plot, they are going to need her help…

The first book in this series was Ellie S. Green’s debut children’s novel. It attracted the attention of booksellers and was selected for several children’s literary prize lists. This second instalment brings a fresh twist to the series, with historical figures suddenly transported into the present day and in need of protection from a ruthless time trafficker. The book is also a beautifully produced object, featuring a large-format hardback design, elegant gold foil detailing, illustrated endpapers and striking black-and-white interior illustrations by Marion Bulot.

About the author: Initially focused on science and medicine, Ellie S. Green began her writing career with the Steam Sailors trilogy, an adventure about sky pirates. An insatiably curious author, she starts a new writing project whenever a subject sparks her interest. And nothing gives her more joy than turning her discoveries into stories to share with readers of all ages!

About the illustrator: Born in Le Mans in 1989, Marion Bulot has loved comics from a young age. She began her career in animation as a 2D animator and set designer before working as an illustrator on the role-playing game Sur la Route de Chrysopée. She later became a graphic author and artistic director on the series Runes and illustrated her first comic book, Le Caillou (Dargaud), with Joachim Hérissé.
