Paris, 2036.
Ugo Marcande is a young “time courier”, using the memory of mirrors to transport his clients into the past. One morning, he is approached by Yana Lysenko, the daughter of a wealthy Ukrainian businessman. But Ugo soon realises — at his own peril — that Yana is no ordinary client. Little by little, threats and secrets creep into his life. The past begins to taste more and more like blood. Why is Yana willing to do whatever it takes to trace the footsteps of her ancestors?

Eric Simard was born in the Yonne Valley in France. He has published over ninety books, most of which are suitable for children. His stories often explore themes of diversity and living together. He is notably the author of the series “Les Humanimaux”, published by Syros. He now focuses on his novels and leads author readings as well as creative writing workshops.
