The Gold Burners – The Apprentices of Mortcelieu

Content : Within the grim walls of the Institute, Cléo dreams of adventure. An orphan left behind, she steals to pay for lessons with the enchanter Balabuze. But even that is no longer enough.

Just as her life seems destined for dullness, Lazarus appears. This mysterious and charming young man invites Cléo to Mortcelieu Castle, where she will have the chance to take magic lessons.

But Cléo is overwhelmed by the gap in skill between herself and the other apprentices. Determined to earn her place, and with the support of her new friends, she works tirelessly to catch up and make her dream a reality.

Yet the dream turns into a nightmare when a plot against the crown shakes the students’ lives. Cléo and her friends must do everything they can to thwart the dark schemes of the Order of Erebus.
